Days of Visibility, Awareness, and Remembrance

At the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center part of our mission is to bring a broader campus and community awareness to the many issues facing our LGBTQIA+, queer, non-binary, and gender nonconforming Illini Community. One of the ways we do this is by celebrating and acknowledging the many national and international days of visibility, awareness, and remembrance. These day, and sometimes month long, awareness campaigns are intended on shining a light on the complex and diverse issues impacting LGBTQIA+, queer, non-binary, and gender nonconforming peoples. At the GSRC it is our goal to shine a light on many of these hallmarked dates. Below you will find a list of some of the important days we hope our campus community can join us in acknowledging and recognizing*:
